🌱 A well-developed water lily
Our water lilies are offered at €39.95, as they are delivered in a large 3L pot, with a well-developed rhizome and often several leaves, even already flowers.
Unlike many online offers sold as bare roots, ours are perfectly rooted and already established, ensuring quick growth and a long-lasting plant for many years.
🎨 Color choice
Our water lilies are sold by color (white, pink, red, yellow, blue, etc.) — you will receive a water lily matching the chosen color, without the option to select the exact variety.
If you are looking for a specific variety, you can contact us by email before your order to check availability.
Note: Red water lilies often tend toward purple or dark pink shades, depending on the variety and flower maturity.
Blue water lilies, on the other hand, are more fragile and require protection or suitable wintering in winter.
🌱 How to plant a water lily?
- Make a mix of substrate and potting soil.
- Place the jute cloth in the basket and put some soil at the bottom.
- Fill the basket to the top with the soil-potting mix.
- Leave some space for gravel on the surface.
- Place the water lily rhizome with its root ball on the surface. The rosette should not be buried.
- Cut the jute cloth 10 cm from the basket and fold the edges over the soil.
- Place gravel on the surface to hold the soil. This step is especially important if you have koi carp that might eat the rhizome and leaves before the plant can develop.
- Submerge the water lily. Allow 60 to 80 cm depth (up to 140 cm) so the water lily never freezes, and 30 to 40 cm if it is a dwarf variety.
💡 Some little tips to guide you:
- It is interesting to choose plants with different flowering periods to have flowers throughout the season.
- Why not try choosing plants of different sizes, some creeping and others much taller. It adds depth!
- Keep in mind that a plant needs space; the more you give it, the more beautiful it will be. Work with large baskets.
- Very important: strictly respect the planting depth indicated in each of our sheets.
